Wine often tells a story of time and place. Unfortunately, not all of those stories have a fairy tale ending. This is one of those times. Perhaps that simply means that this story needs to continue to be told because it demonstrates a truly authentic side of winemaking. We like to say that winemaking is a dance with Mother Nature - and she often likes to keep things hot and spicy.
In July 2024, the Lewis-Clark Valley lost a very special cornerstone winery to the Gwen Fire. Some of the vines on this site are nearing 50 years old and the area is designated as an AVA in great part to their passion and efforts. These three release wines were harvested the following fall from the miracle Arrow Junction grapes that survived while the lightning-caused wildfire raged around it.

Despite this gaping hole in our local wine community, this event will highlight the resilience of our valley. Although our heart hurts, there is still no place we’d rather be pursuing this journey than right here.
An RSVP is always appreciated, but never required. We sincerely hope you will consider joining us. If you do plan to attend, please email us at wine@jovinea.com and let us know if you will be bringing a complimentary guest. If you are aware of someone who may not be a wine club member but would like to attend, please send us their contact information and we will reach out to them.
